Precision Bolt-Action Rifle (Bolt Gun) Course


The Precision Bolt-Action Rifle Course is designed for shooters who want to develop a strong foundation in precision marksmanship, whether for hunting, competition, or personal skill development. This class focuses on safe rifle operation, consistency, and understanding environmental factors that influence bullet performance.


Students will train in:


Operation & Safety

  • Bolt-action rifle components and function
     
  • Safe loading, unloading, and chamber checks
     
  • Optic setup and mounting considerations
     
  • Establishing and confirming zero
     

Shooting Positions

  • Prone (supported and unsupported)
     
  • Kneeling and seated positions
     
  • Use of natural terrain and improvised supports
     
  • Building stable shooting platforms in field conditions
     

Wind Reading & Environmental Factors

  • Understanding wind value and direction
     
  • Reading mirage and environmental indicators
     
  • External ballistics fundamentals
     
  • Making proper elevation and wind corrections
     

Maintenance

  • Proper cleaning procedures
     
  • Bore care and copper fouling management
     
  • Torque values and rifle consistency
     
  • Equipment inspection for reliability and safety
     

Ballistic Development

  • Understanding muzzle velocity and data tracking
     
  • Chronograph fundamentals
     
  • Building and confirming DOPE (Data On Previous Engagements)
     
  • Ammunition selection and consistency evaluation
     

This course blends precision fundamentals with practical field application. Whether preparing for ethical long-range hunting or refining technical marksmanship skills, students leave with a deeper understanding of their rifle system and the confidence to apply it responsibly.

  1. Rifle
  2. bi-pod
  3. shooting bag
  4. 100 rounds of rifle ammo


Preferred:

  1. Tripod to shoot off of for positional shooting
  2. Suppressor
